Animal shelter

An animal shelter is like a big house that takes care of animals in need. Just like a mom takes care of her child, animal shelters take care of pets that are looking for new homes, because their old homes didn’t work out or they got lost.

Lots of different kinds of animals live in shelters like dogs, cats, rabbits, and even some birds and reptiles. The shelter makes sure that the animals are safe, healthy and have enough food to eat and water to drink.

People who work at the shelter take care of the animals, play with them, make sure they get exercise and attention. They also check the animals for any sicknesses, like a vet does, and give them medicine when they need it.

Shelters are like a temporary home for the animals, while they wait for someone to adopt them and take them to their forever home. When someone visits the shelter and likes an animal, they can adopt them, take them home and become their new family.

So, animal shelters are places of love and care for animals who need some help finding their happy homes.
