Attacks on RTI activists in India

In India, there are some people who work really hard to find out and share information about the government's activities and decisions. These people are called RTI activists. They use a law called the Right to Information (RTI) Act to ask the government about things they want to know.

Unfortunately, some people don't like these activists because they uncover things that the government may not want to share. These people sometimes get angry and attack the activists to scare them into stopping their work.

These attacks can happen in different ways. Sometimes, they use violence and hurt the activists physically, which is really bad. Other times, they try to threaten or intimidate them, which means they try to scare the activists into thinking they will get hurt if they continue their work.

These attacks are very unfair and wrong because the activists are just trying to make sure the government is doing its job properly and not keeping secrets from the people. The activists want to help everyone by sharing important information that can make the country better.

But these attacks make it difficult for the activists to do their job. They might get scared and stop asking questions or investigating the government's actions. This means that important information might never come out, and the government might get away with doing things that are not good for the people.

So, it's really important for everyone to support these RTI activists and protect them from any harm. The government should also take strong actions to punish those who attack the activists and make sure they feel safe to continue their important work.
