Banned books

Banned books are books that have been made illegal because someone in charge thinks they have too many bad or dangerous ideas in them. This can mean something as mild as not teaching kids good values or habits, or something more serious like being racist, violent, or containing something that grown-ups think might be bad for children. A lot of people don't like it when books get banned, because they believe that everyone has the right to read whatever they want and make up their own mind about it.
