Black and Tans

Black and Tans were a force of British soldiers sent to Ireland in 1920. The soldiers were named after their uniforms which were half black and half tan. Their mission was to help the police in Ireland contain the violence during a time of civil unrest. But sadly, they ended up causing even more violence. They attacked people and buildings and became very feared.
