Blandford–Znajek process

The Blandford-Znajek process is like a big, fancy way of saying that when something spins really, really fast, it can make a lot of energy. Imagine you're spinning around in a circle. You know how you feel dizzy and maybe a little bit sick and tired after doing that for a while? Well, when really big things like black holes spin around in circles, they can make a lot more than just dizziness.

We know that black holes are really, really heavy and can suck in everything around them, even light. They also spin really quickly, which means that they have a lot of energy stored up. But sometimes, this energy gets released in a special way. It's kind of like when you rub your feet on the carpet and then touch something metal, and you get a little zap of electricity.
