Bouncing ball dynamics

A bouncing ball is something that can happen when you throw a ball up in the air and it comes back down again. When the ball is in the air, gravity is pulling it down, and when it hits the ground, it bounces back up because of something called elasticity. When a ball is elastic, it means it has the ability to store energy when something pushes or pulls on it. The energy stored in an elastic ball is released when it bounces back up again, making it jump higher than it was before. This is the same principle that is used in jumping: when you stretch a muscle and then release it, you can jump higher than if you just relaxed it. So elasticity is important for bouncing balls and jumping!
