Charles Bourseul was a man who lived many years ago and he did something really cool. He figured out how to send messages using electricity! It's kind of like when you send a message with your phone or your computer, but he did it without those things.
Now, let's imagine you want to send a message to your friend who is far away from you. You could yell really loudly, but they might not be able to hear you. Charles Bourseul figured out a way for people to send messages through little electrical vibrations that could travel a really long way.
He came up with the idea of using something called a "telegraph," which is a big machine with wires that connect to other machines far away. When someone wanted to send a message, they would use a special code to tap the wire in a certain way, kind of like Morse code. The tapping would create little electrical vibrations that would travel along the wire and be picked up by the machine on the other end. Then the machine would convert those vibrations into letters or words, and the message would be sent!
Thanks to Charles Bourseul, we now have lots of different ways to send messages using technology, like texting and email. He was a really smart guy who figured out how to use electricity to help people communicate, and we still use his ideas today!
