ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Compartmentalization (information security)

Compartmentalization is like having a special room where you can keep your stuff safe. In information security, we use compartmentalization to make sure that valuable information, like passwords and documents, is kept away from people who are not supposed to see it or have access to it. Compartmentalization works by making sure that only certain people are allowed to open the door to the room and see what is inside. This way, the data stays safe and secure, and nobody except the people who have the special key to the room can get to it.
