Concealing objects in a book

Have you ever hidden something under your pillow or in your toy box so no one else could find it? Well, sometimes grown-ups also want to hide things from others, and they do it by putting things in books.

When people want to hide something in a book, they first need to cut out part of the pages in the middle of the book to make a little hole. Then, they can put whatever they want to hide inside that hole. They can put things like money, letters, or even secret spy messages!

Once the object is hidden in the book, it looks just like any other book on the outside. No one would ever know that there's something secret inside unless they looked really closely and noticed the hole in the pages.

So, the next time you see a book on a shelf, keep in mind that it's possible that there might be something hidden inside!
