ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Continuum mechanics

Continuum mechanics is a branch of physics that studies how objects move and interact with each other when they are all close together and connected. It looks at how thinkgs like water, gas, or even solid objects move when they are all close together. It also looks at how forces like gravity or friction can affect the movement of these objects and how these forces can interact with each other. So essentially, continuum mechanics is studying how objects move and interact in a connected and continuous space.
