ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Counter (digital)

A counter is like a really cool machine that counts things for you!

Let's say you have some toys, like little cars. Now, you want to know how many cars you have. If you only have a few, you could count them with your fingers. But what if you have lots of cars, more than you could count with your fingers? That's where a counter comes in!

A digital counter is like a computer that helps you count. It has a special way of counting using numbers, just like how you count with your fingers.

The way it works is you turn it on and it starts counting from 0. Every time you press a button, it adds one more to the number. So if you pressed the button five times, the counter would say "5."

What's really cool is that you can set the counter to count up to a certain number. So if you had 10 cars, you could set the counter to only count up to 10. That way, you'll know when you've counted all your cars!

Counters can be really useful for lots of things besides just toys. They can be used in businesses to count the number of customers that come in, or to count how many times a machine has done a certain task. Counters are important because they help us keep track of things and make sure we know when we've reached a certain amount.
