Cruelty to animals

Cruelty to animals means hurting them, or being mean to them in a way that makes them suffer or feel bad. A good example of cruelty to animals is if someone hurts a pet like a cat or dog by hitting them, or holding them too tightly, or not giving them enough food or water. All animals have the right to be treated kindly and with respect, and we should never be cruel to them.
