Cup and ring mark

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a tree or rock with circles carved into them? Those are called cup and ring marks!

People a long time ago used to make these marks by carving the rock, usually with a special tool made of stone or metal. They would make little cup-shaped holes, and then carve a ring around them.

No one knows for sure why they made these marks, but some people think it could have been a way to communicate with each other, like leaving a message. Others think it could have been part of religious or spiritual rituals.

Nowadays, archaeologists study these marks to learn more about the people who made them and the time period they lived in. They can tell us a lot about their culture and way of life.

So there you have it, cup and ring marks are kinda like secret messages carved into rocks by people a long time ago, and they help us learn about history!
