DNS over TLS

DNS over TLS is a way for computers to request websites on the internet securely. When a computer wants to visit a website, it needs to know the website's address. It does this by sending a request to a DNS server, which is like a telephone book for computers.

Normally, these requests are not very secure. But with DNS over TLS, the computer can encrypt the request which makes it harder for someone to intercept. This way the computer knows it's talking to the right DNS server and that nobody can listen in and see which website it's trying to reach.
