ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Data-flow analysis

Data flow analysis looks at how data travels through a system--like a computer--and helps us understand what effect different pieces of data have on each other. It's like tracing a path of clues to find out what happens next. Imagine that each piece of data is like a ball in a maze. Data flow analysis helps us follow that ball as it goes from one part of the maze to the next, until we can figure out what's happening.
