DeSanctis–Cacchione syndrome

Okay, so imagine your body as a big building with lots of rooms. There are instructions in your body, called genes, that tell your body how to build the rooms and what they should look like.

Desanctis-Cacchione syndrome is caused by one of those genes not working properly. It's like if the construction workers building your building didn't read the instructions correctly and built a room wrong.

This syndrome can cause problems with your eyes, making it hard to see well. It can also cause problems with your skin, making it easy to get sunburned and making the skin look different.

Doctors can sometimes help people with this syndrome by giving them special glasses to help with their vision or suggesting they wear extra sunscreen and protective clothing when outside in the sun.
