ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

End-user computing

End-user computing is when someone uses a computer or device (like a tablet or phone) to do their work or play games or watch videos. Just like when we use crayons to draw a picture or blocks to build a tower, we also use computers to do things.

Sometimes, big companies or organizations give their employees a special computer with special software to do their work. These computers are known as "workstations". They have everything the employee needs to do their job like programs to help them type, calculate or create designs. Workstations are more powerful than regular computers and are made to last longer.

But some people use their own personal computers to do work. These are called "personal devices". Personal devices have a lot of different software on them depending on the person who owns them. They can be used to check email, make presentations, or connect to other people online.

End-user computing is important because it helps people work more efficiently and get things done quickly. Just make sure you don't use your device too much and get enough physical activity outside!
