ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Exponential dispersion model

Exponential dispersion models are a way to describe how spread apart different things are. For example, we could use it to describe the spread of numbers in a group of people's ages. In an exponential dispersion model, each number is a little bit farther away from the next number than the number before it. For example, if the first number was 5, then the next number might be 8, then the next one might be 11, then 14, and so on. It increases exponentially, which means it increases by a lot more than the number before it.
