Film technique

Film technique means the way a movie or TV show is made.

Imagine you want to make a cake. You need ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs and butter and you need to use tools like a bowl, a whisk and an oven to make it.

Filmmakers have their own ingredients such as actors, cameras, lights, sound equipment and costumes. Just like cooking, film technique is the way they combine these ingredients to make a movie that tastes good.

Some of the film techniques used are camera angles, lighting, sound effects, music, editing, special effects and acting.

For example, when the camera is close to an actor's face, it can make the audience feel like they are really in the same room. Lighting can set a scary or happy mood in a scene. Sound effects can make a scene feel intense or funny. Music can make people feel emotional or excited. Editing is like putting together a puzzle where the pieces are different shots of the movie. Special effects are used to make things look like they are happening that really aren't.

All of these techniques work together to make a movie feel and look a certain way and to tell a story in a way that will keep the audience interested.
