Fish are born from eggs that their mommy lays. The eggs are small and round, like little balls. They have a hard covering called a shell.
When the eggs hatch, baby fish come out. They are called fry. At first, they are really small and can't swim very well. They need to eat to grow, so they start looking for food right away.
As they grow bigger, they start to swim better and can go farther to find food. They also start to change shape. Some fish get longer and thinner, while others get bigger and rounder.
As they keep growing, they start to look more like adult fish. They might start to develop fins and scales. Some fish will also change color to blend in with their environment.
Eventually, the fish become adults and can lay their own eggs to start the cycle all over again. And that's how fish development works!
