Found footage (appropriation)

Found footage is like when you find an old video or movie that someone else made a long time ago. They may have recorded it for something else, but you can take parts of it and use it in your own video or movie. This is called appropriation. It's like borrowing or using something that someone else made, but making sure you give them credit or permission. This is important so that people know where the original footage came from and who made it. Just like when you borrow a toy from a friend, you have to give it back to them when you're done or ask if you can keep it.
