ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Generic top-level domain

A generic top-level domain (gTLD) is like an address for websites on the Internet. It's the part of the web address that comes after the last period - like .com or .org. There are lots of different gTLDs now, like .club, .shop, .movie, .news and .blog. They help people find the website they're looking for more easily. Each gTLD tells something special about the website - like .org for organizations and .club for a club.
