ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Genocide education

Genocide education is teaching people about terrible events that happened in the past where people were killed or hurt because of their race, religion, nationality, or something else that made them different. We learn about genocide education to make sure that these types of horrific acts never happen again—we want to make sure that people become more understanding, respectful, and tolerant towards one another. By learning about what happened in the past, we can become better people in the future.
