German Expressionism

German Expressionism is an art style that started in Germany in the early 1900s. It focuses on using bright colors, strong lines, and distorted shapes to express emotions and feelings. Expressionism is known for its dark and intense subject matter. It often deals with themes related to death, fear, anxiety, and the dark side of human nature. The art is supposed to show something that the viewer can feel and understand. Some of the most famous Expressionist artists are Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Emil Nolde and Wassily Kandinsky.
