German atrocities committed against Soviet prisoners of war

The Germans were a country that fought in World War II against the Soviets (another country). During the war, many Soviet people were captured by the Germans and became "prisoners of war". The Germans then treated these prisoners very badly and often even killed them. The Germans did terrible things that we call "atrocities" - things like not feeding them enough food, not providing them with enough water, making them do very hard work, and attacking them with weapons. It was very wrong and very cruel to do this to these people and it was an atrocity.
