ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Health geography

Health geography is the study of how the environment and places of where people live impacts the health of individuals and populations. For example, people who live in areas with access to healthy food, or who have access to medical care, may have better overall health than people who live in areas without these resources. The study of health geography looks at how the physical environment (like types of buildings, roads, water sources, and air quality) influences people's health. It also looks at how people's access to resources (like food, healthcare, and transportation) affects their health.
