ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Information metabolism

Information metabolism is a way to think of how people use, process, learn, and remember information. It's like how the food we eat gets broken down in our bodies and turned into energy and new cells. Information metabolism is like that but with information: we take in information through our senses, our brains process it, store it, or use it to learn something new. Just like how we need food to survive, we need to be exposed to and process new information to stay healthy mentally.
