Integral equations

An integral equation is like a math problem that needs to be solved in order to figure out a closed form expression for something. It's different from equations that only involve numbers, because it also involves integrals. Integrals are like areas on a graph and they are important in understanding different kinds of relationships between different things. In an integral equation, it's like you have a shape and you want to figure out the area of the shape. To do this, you have to use the integral to calculate the area, which can be quite complicated. Then, once you know the area, you can solve for whatever the equation is asking for. So, for example, if you have an equation asking for the speed of something over a certain amount of time, you might need to use an integral equation to figure out what the speed should be.
