ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Intellectualism

Intellectualism is when someone likes to learn new things and thinks about them a lot. It's kind of like being a really curious person who asks a lot of questions and wants to know more about the world. Imagine you are a very curious and smart child, and you keep asking questions to your parents all the time. They might feel like you are an intellectual kid! People who are intellectual like to read books, study, and understand what's happening around them. They might also be interested in philosophy, politics, science, and many other things. Being intellectual means you enjoy learning for the sake of learning itself, without necessarily needing a reward or a prize at the end. It's like being a little scientist or a little philosopher, always curious and always willing to learn.
