Kristallnacht

Okay, kiddo! So, Kristallnacht is a word that means "the Night of Broken Glass" in German. It happened a long time ago in 1938 in Germany.

At that time, a bad leader named Adolf Hitler was in charge of Germany. He didn't like Jewish people and wanted to get rid of them.

So, on Kristallnacht, some mean people who followed Hitler's ideas went around and broke into Jewish homes and businesses. They broke windows and glass doors with rocks and hammers. They also started fires and destroyed synagogues, which are Jewish places of worship.

It was a very scary and sad time for Jewish people because their homes and belongings were destroyed, and they were hurt and killed. This was just the beginning of a terrible time in history called the Holocaust, where many people were killed simply because of who they were.

It's important to remember Kristallnacht and the Holocaust so that we can learn from history and make sure something like that never happens again.
