Laogai

Laogai is a type of prison in China where people who do bad things get sent. When someone gets sent to laogai, they have to stay there in a very small room and do hard work all day, like making things or farming the land. They are not allowed to talk to their family and friends, or even see them. Laogai is very bad for people, because it's not a nice place to live in and it can be dangerous.
