ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Logarithm

A logarithm is a way to describe how many times you need to multiply a number to get another number. For example if you want to find out how many times you need to multiply 2 to get 8, the answer would be 3. This is because you need to multiply 2 three times (2x2x2) to get 8. That way of finding out how many times you need to multiply a number is called a logarithm.
