Mass drug administration

Mass drug administration is when a lot of people take medicine all at the same time. This is done to make sure that as many people as possible are protected from sicknesses that could make them very sick or even die.

Have you ever seen a doctor give you medicine when you are sick? That medicine helps you get better, right? Well, imagine if lots of people were getting sick from the same thing, like a bad cold or a stomach bug. The doctors might want to give everyone medicine to prevent them from getting sick, even if they feel okay.

That's what mass drug administration is all about - giving medicine to lots of people, whether they feel sick or not, to make sure they stay healthy. This is especially important in places where lots of people can get sick from the same thing, like in crowded cities or poor countries.

Sometimes, giving medicine to a lot of people at the same time can be tricky. But doctors and nurses work hard to make sure that the medicine is safe, that people know why they are taking it, and that everyone who needs it can get it.
