ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nazi gun control argument

Okay kiddo, so a long time ago there was a group of people called Nazis who ruled Germany. They were very mean and did terrible things to people who didn't look or think like them. They also took away people's guns, which means they made it illegal for regular people to own and use guns.

Some people today argue that the Nazis took away people's guns so they couldn't fight back against the government or protect themselves. They say that taking away guns is always bad because it means people can't defend themselves. But other people say that it's not that simple. The Nazis also used guns to do bad things to people, and taking away guns can sometimes make people safer. It's important to look at all the reasons and decide what's best for everyone.
