ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nonlinear narrative

A nonlinear narrative is like a choose-your-own-adventure book or a puzzle. Instead of telling a story in the usual order (start to finish), it jumps around, like a roller coaster or a maze. Imagine if you could read a book where you could choose how the story goes or if you could read a story that jumps back and forth in time, like flashbacks in a TV show or movie. It might not make sense at first, but in the end, all the different parts come together to tell a bigger story. It's like putting together a big jigsaw puzzle with lots of little pieces, and in the end, you can see the whole picture. Nonlinear narratives can be tricky to follow, but they can also be really exciting and fun to read or watch!
