ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nonpoint source pollution

Nonpoint source pollution is pollution that comes from many different places, like a river or lake, but can't be traced to just one place. It occurs when rain washes pollutants, like dirt and fertilizer from our lawns, into the water. The polluted water can make animals and people sick because it contains germs, chemicals, and other things that are bad for us.
