A paratrooper is a person who jumps out of a flying airplane or helicopter and floats down to the ground with a parachute.
Imagine you are playing with your toys at home and you want to get down to the ground floor really fast. Instead of taking the stairs or the slide, you decide to jump out of your bedroom window with a balloon that blows up and slows down your fall.
Now, imagine a grown-up who is part of an army or a special unit that needs to get to places really fast without being seen. They have a special training that helps them become a paratrooper, which means they know how to jump out of an airplane or helicopter with a parachute and safely land on the ground.
Before they jump out of the plane, the paratroopers put on a special suit and helmet that helps them breathe and stay safe during the jump. They also have a large backpack with the parachute that they will use to float down to the ground.
Once they are in the air, they have to be really careful and follow instructions from their team leader. They also need to make sure they land where they are supposed to and avoid trees, buildings, or other obstacles.
Being a paratrooper requires a lot of training, skill, and courage. It is an important job that helps armies and special forces get to places quickly and safely.
