ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Peer production

Peer production is when people work together to create something. It is different from traditional production because the people are not doing it for money or for someone else, but for themselves. So, instead of one person paid to do a certain job, lots of people work together from different places to make something. It could be a computer program, a website, or anything else. Everyone who contributes will get something out of it, like a free copy of the program or being able to show off that they helped make something neat.
