Prizma is a fancy word for a shape that looks like a stretched out cube with two ends that are the same. Imagine holding a box and slowly squishing it down until it becomes a long, rectangular shape with two flat, identical ends. That shape is called a prizma!
Now, think about how light bounces off the walls of the box when you shine a flashlight into it. The same thing happens in a prizma! When light passes through the flat sides of a prizma, it bends and separates into different colors. This is called refraction.
You might have seen this happen before in a rainbow or in a science experiment where you shine light through a glass prism to make a rainbow on the wall. That’s just like what happens when light passes through a prizma!
