ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Quantum machine

A quantum machine is like a really powerful computer. It uses atoms and particles that are very, very small – much smaller than the ones you can see under a microscope. Instead of using electricity like regular computers, quantum machines use light and special rules of physics to do calculations and store information. They have the power to do things much faster than regular computers, which is why scientists and engineers think they can use them to solve problems that regular computers can't.
