RECCO

Okay kiddo, have you ever went skiing? And have you also noticed those little reflectors on the back of the ski jackets that people wear while skiing? Well, those reflectors are called RECCO!

RECCO is a kind of rescue technology that helps rescue teams find people if they get lost in the snowy mountains while enjoying skiing, snowboarding, or other winter sports. It works by bouncing back signal from a special detector that is carried by rescue teams, similar to how your voice might bounce back when you shout in a big empty room.

This detection system can detect signals from RECCO reflectors in jackets, pants, helmets and even snow boots, which helps the rescue team find people more quickly and easily in case of accidents. So RECCO is like an invisible safety coat that helps the rescue team find us if we ever need their help while skiing or snowboarding. Pretty cool, huh?
