Reduction of summands

Reduction of summands is a way of making a math problem simpler. It means taking a number or a group of numbers and finding a way to make the number smaller so the problem is easier to work out. For example, let's say you have the sum 8 + 7. To reduce this sum, you can add the two numbers together to make 15, which is a smaller number, so that way the math problem is simpler!
