ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Regular chain

Okay kiddo, do you know what a chain is? It's a bunch of links or loops connected together to make a long rope-like thing. And do you know what "regular" means? It means something that follows a pattern or rule. So, a "regular chain" is just a chain that has a pattern or rule to how it's made.

Let's say you want to make a regular chain with red and blue links. You could make a rule that every other link is red, and the ones in between are blue. So the pattern would go "red, blue, red, blue, red, blue" and repeat over and over again. That would be a regular chain because it follows a set pattern.

Another example of a regular chain could be if you wanted to make a chain out of paper clips. You could decide that every three paper clips, you bend the end of one to make a hook, and then link the next three onto that hook. So the pattern would be "three paper clips, hook, three paper clips, hook" and repeat over and over again. That would be a regular chain too!

So, a regular chain is just a chain that follows a set pattern or rule, making it predictable and easy to make. Pretty cool, huh?
