Reich Music Examination Office

The Reich Music Examination Office was a place in Germany during World War II where people had to go to get permission to play music. It was like a big office building where some people who were in charge of the government would decide if a person could play music or not.

They had very strict rules about what type of music was allowed to be played. They only wanted music that was considered "German" or "Aryan", which means music that was written by people who were from Germany and had blonde hair and blue eyes. They did not like music that came from other countries or from people who looked different from them.

If someone wanted to play music publicly, they had to go to this office and take a test to prove that they could play the right type of music. It was a very difficult test, and even skilled musicians sometimes failed. If someone failed the test, they were not allowed to play music publicly and were sometimes even punished.

The Reich Music Examination Office was a symbol of the oppressive regime in Germany during World War II. It was a way for the government to control what people heard and to make sure that only the "right" type of music was played.
