ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Self-driving car liability

Self-driving cars are cars that can drive by themselves without any help from a person. Because of this, it can be difficult to know who is responsible if something bad happens. When someone is responsible for something bad that happens, that person is said to be liable. So with self-driving cars, liability will be a tricky thing to figure out. Generally, the person or company that made the car will be held responsible if something goes wrong. Hopefully, self-driving cars will become even safer over time and any accidents that happen will be very rare.
