ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sexpionage

Okay, kiddo, let's talk about something called sexpionage. Sexpionage is when someone uses sex or a romantic relationship to get secret information from someone else. Imagine that your friend has a secret, and you really want to know what it is. So, you offer them a cookie in exchange for the secret. That's kind of like what sexpionage is, except instead of a cookie, someone might offer a date or a romantic relationship. And instead of a secret between friends, it's secret information between countries or organizations.

But, it's not a good thing to do. Having someone give you secret information can hurt them and others, and it can also be dangerous for the person doing the sexpionage. People who do this might get caught and face serious consequences, like losing their job or even going to jail.

So, it's important to remember that it's never okay to use someone else's love or trust to get secret information. It's much better to build relationships based on honesty and respect.
