Skylab

Skylab was the first space station launched by the United States in 1973. It was like a house in space that astronauts could stay in. They could do experiments, take pictures, and take a break from living on Earth. Skylab stayed in space for about six years until it started to break apart and the pieces fell back to Earth in 1979.
