ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Snow chains

Okay kiddo, do you know when we see snow outside and it gets really slippery to walk or drive on? Yes, you got it! It's because snow makes the ground very slippery.

And because we don't want to slip and slide while driving our car, we need something called snow chains.

Snow chains are like little bracelets made of chains or cables that go around the wheels of our car to help us drive on slippery roads in the snow.

They work kind of like shoes with really good traction. Just like how we wear shoes with rubber soles to grip the ground better, snow chains help our car's tires grip the slippery snow and ice on the road. This makes it easier to drive and safer too!

Snow chains can be really helpful, but they're not always necessary. It's important to check if they're required by law in certain areas and only use them when it's really snowy and slippery outside.

And that's snow chains explained like you're 5 years old!
