ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Software aging

Software aging is when software experiences problems as it gets older. It's a bit like getting old when you're a person - after a while, your body starts to have problems, like aching joints.

Software aging happens because of changes in the software that happen over time. Programmers fix bugs and add new features, so the software can do more and do it better. But the more changes that are made, the harder it is for the software to keep working properly. As a result, the software might start to slow down, or it might not work correctly.

Overall, software aging is when software no longer works properly because it has been changed too much over time.
