ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Software review

Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes you try to draw something or color in a picture, but then you show it to an adult and they tell you if it looks good or not? Well, that's kind of like what software review is!

When grown-ups make computer programs or apps, they want to make sure they work well and don't have any problems. But sometimes they can miss things or make mistakes, so they need other grown-ups called software reviewers to look at their work and give them feedback.

The software reviewers use the program like they would if they were a regular user, and they test it to see if everything works like it's supposed to. They also look for things that could be improved or things that might be confusing for people using the program.

Once they're done testing the program, the software reviewers write up a report of their findings and give it to the people who made the program. Then, the program makers can use that information to fix any problems and make their program even better!

So basically, software review is like having someone else check your work to make sure it's done right and help you make it better. Just like how someone might check your drawing to make sure it looks good!
